A Secluded Organic Farm Nestled Among Beautiful Gardens
Offering delectable organic gourmet dishes made with fresh ingredients in a casual setting, Fangyu Farm (芳裕農場) is a famous restaurant situated in a small picturesque valley in Keelung City’s Maling Keng (瑪陵坑) in northern Taiwan.
Please watch the following video of the picturesque organic farm in Taiwan:
Built on a small hill opposite a creek, this unique eatery is surrounded by a wide array of trees, flowers, bamboo, and herbs, such as ferns (蕨類), wild ginger, purple perilla (紫蘇), Toona sinensis (香椿), Gratiola officinalis (水八角), Lycoris aurea (金花石蒜), and honeysuckle (金銀花), and creates the feeling of a secluded castle nestled among beautiful gardens.
Inside, decorated with various plants and flowers, the restaurant has a small pond and a winding stream with shrimp and small fish in its crystal clear water.
When visiting Fangyu Farm, many visitors cannot help but take off their shoes and dip their feet in the water of the small pond in the restaurant and enjoy a foot massage by shrimp and small fish.
Above the small pond and the tiny steam is the elevated solid wood floor on which customers dine among green plants.
On weekends and holidays, musicians play beautiful music to create a soothing atmosphere.
Fangyu Farm prides itself on serving delicious and healthy organic food and drinks. One of the distinctive features of its cuisine is that it makes most dishes with tasty and fragrant herbs, while the herbal tea that it serves is often made with honeysuckle. It tastes great and is believed to host certain elements that can aid in the elimination of infection-causing germs.
When visiting this organic farm, not only will customers be amazed by the tasty organic food and herbal tea, but also by the cozy ambiance and the beauty of the surroundings.
Visitors can take a walk around the beautiful gardens to view the tranquil landscape and breathe in the fresh air. It’s also very relaxing to appreciate the various plants, herbs, and fish in the tiny ponds.
Besides shrimp and fish swimming in the ponds inside and outside the restaurant, visitors may also be surprised to find that there are some pets on the farm, including a cockatiel (雞尾鸚鵡) and a Formosan wild boar (山豬).
The white cockatiel, named Meimei (younger sister妹妹), loves to play with kids. It always follows people’s request to dance on their hands or shoulders. With a coat of coarse bristly hair, the boar is called Maoguai (毛怪). Many kids are often intrigued by Maogui, as Formosan wild boars are not very common.
The walking trail in the farm is endowed with breathtaking scenery. The Mountain Tea House (山茶坊) is located at the end of the trail and made of wooden planks. It is a great place to sit and savor a nice cup of tea or coffee after lunch. Visitors will be amazed by the picturesque landscape and the fragrant fresh air just outside the windows.
